About the Role

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a participant support specialist. This role will involve working closely with participants and school leavers to assist them in achieving their employment goals under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). The successful candidate will require strong networking, organisational and communication skills to create successful relationships amongst various stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Build professional relationships with participants at differing stages in their employment journey
  • Provide a positive and supportive environment for people with disability to assist them with reaching their goals of finding and sustaining employment
  • Create an individual support plan and a 12 week plan that outlines the participants journey towards finding and keeping a job
  • Create and seek opportunities that enable an individual to reach their own potential as a valued member of their community in line with their NDIS goals, inclusive of work experience activities
  • Facilitate individual and group activities, using a variety of enabling styles including job readiness skills, volunteering / work experience, and confidence building
  • Ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative processes in line with organisational policies, procedures, legislative requirements and guidelines from the National Disability Insurance Agency
  • Maintain data integrity and efficiently manage workload; prioritising tasks and ensuring all work is completed within designated time frames
About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for an individual who has the following skills and qualities:

  • The ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
  • To be proactive, showing initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Resilience and patience, with the ability to work with complex behaviours
  • A current First Aid and CPR Certificate – or willingness to obtain prior to start
  • A reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
  • Demonstrated ability to provide vocational support to participants who live with disability, delivering a service that enables them to build their capacity and work toward meeting their employment goals
  • Experience in facilitating individual and group educational activities
  • High level of customer service skills, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
