We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our Infrastructure Services Department at Meander Valley Council. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing design drawings, specifications, and project plans for the construction and maintenance of our infrastructure assets.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Planning: Prepare detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for civil engineering works, ensuring compliance with technical standards and regulations.
- Asset Management: Conduct inspections of construction works, document information, and update our asset management register and GIS with relevant data.
- Project Coordination: Develop project plans for maintenance or construction works, including costings, timeframes, and resource allocation.
- Technical Advice: Provide technical advice and information to Council and Community committees as requested.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing reports for Council meetings or workshops as required.
- Project Delivery: Prepare accurate and detailed designs and documentation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Operational Tasks: Balance operational tasks and provide timely customer service.
- Timeframes: Meet required timeframes for the assessment of development applications and inspection of works.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent combination of training, skills, and experience.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of local government infrastructure assets and technical standards.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to relate to customer enquiries.
- Computer Skills: High-level computer skills for administration and infrastructure design.
- Other Requirements: Current vehicle driver's license and commitment to maintaining it.
