Parks and Open Spaces Maintenance Specialist

This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the upkeep and enhancement of Council's parks, sportsfields, open spaces, and recreational areas.

As a valued member of the Parks & Streetscape Operations team, you will be responsible for carrying out operational tasks and activities that help the team meet its performance targets and service commitments.

You'll work collaboratively within a supportive team environment, engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of services that benefit the local community.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community-focused work, takes pride in outdoor maintenance, and thrives in a team setting.

The position requires a relevant horticultural qualification or equivalent industry experience in parks and sportsfields operations.

Additionally, you must possess good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to learn to use field devices, and a Class C Motor Vehicle Driver's Licence.

Suitable level of fitness is also required to perform the inherent duties of the position.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs of park facilities and equipment
  • Conduct daily inspections of parks and open spaces to identify any issues or concerns
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement plans for park upgrades and renovations
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery
