Mental Health Nurse Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in developing clinical nursing skills and promoting advanced standards of practice in recovery focused Mental Health Nursing.
The Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for providing sound clinical leadership and serving as a role model for all clinical staff. You will provide a consultancy service regarding specialist programs within the mental health inpatient unit and have the ability to be a role model for all clinical staff.
Clinically based, this important role will provide a clinical teaching framework and plan for each unit within the educator's area of responsibility. Your primary responsibility will be the effective facilitation and provision of in-service education, Graduate, Postgraduate and RN/EN Transition Programs, Undergraduate Program and continuing education programs, for all nurses at the unit level.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement clinical nursing education programs tailored to meet the needs of the inpatient unit.
- Provide expert clinical advice and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement evidence-based practices.
- Conduct training and education sessions for clinical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of education provided and evaluation of its effectiveness.
- Registration as a registered nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or Bachelor Degree in Nursing plus a Postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
- Minimum five (5) years of post-registration experience working in variety of public acute mental health settings.
