Travel Manager Position Overview

This exciting role involves leading a dynamic team based in Western Australia, responsible for arranging site travel including flights, room bookings and vehicle hire for internal customers.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and direction to the team of Travel Coordinators, driving employee development and service excellence. This office-based position is Monday to Friday, but will be the escalation point for the team across weekends and evenings on occasion.

  • Manage operational activities and workflow to ensure timely, effective and efficient customer service.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team where necessary.
  • Effectively manage resource and rostering to ensure coverage.
  • Conduct regular coaching and mentoring to enable employee growth.
  • Monitor performance output and proactively address training needs.
Key Customer Service Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example to provide quality customer service.
  • Effectively manage escalations and complex issues.
  • Evaluate service standards and processes to meet business needs.
Strategic Management Objectives:
  • Establish and maintain positive cross-functional relationships.
  • Review and develop processes to simplify operations.
  • Support project and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience managing a team.
  • Previous experience in the travel industry or mobilisation of resources to site.
  • Travel management systems knowledge.
Desirable Skills:
  • Resolve issues with urgency and manage escalations.
  • Understand stakeholder requirements and build relationships.
  • Effectively set and manage performance targets.
  • Communicate effectively at all levels.
