Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Support Worker to join our team in Ballarat. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with participants who require support with complex care and high physical needs, promoting independence and lifestyle choices that suit their individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to participants with complex care needs, including manual handling and transfers.
  • Enable participants to shape and improve their lives, creating opportunities for personal growth and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to develop and implement individualised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of participant interactions, including progress notes and incident reports.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III or higher in Disability Services, or 12 months experience working in the disability sector.
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check, NDIS Orientation module (NDIS Quality Safety & You), Working with Children Check, Manual Handling Certification, Administration of Medication Certification, Driver's Licence, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Vehicle.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a DSW in the NDIS sector, with current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with participants, families, and colleagues.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience in acquired brain injury, mental health, dementia training, and supporting clients with high complex behaviour.
  • Personal care experience, with knowledge of relevant equipment and techniques.
