Key Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ramp loader operator to join our team in Melbourne, Australia.

Main Accountabilities:
  • Demonstrate leadership and decision making skills necessary to efficiently meet performance requirements in a changing work environment.
  • Liaise with management and other stakeholders as required.
  • Manage and report health and safety concerns and maintain a safe working environment in designated areas.
  • Adhere to ground operating procedures.
  • Respond to customer / supplier problems which arise within the employee's own section.
Ramp Duties:
  • Liaise with ULD compounds for ULD pick up.
  • Drive and/or operate main/lower deck loaders in accordance with safe operating procedures.
  • Operate all in hold aircraft systems and all ground handling equipment.
  • Check serviceability of ULD before loading.
  • Ensure all flights are open within allocated time in the first bag system.
Safety, Security and Compliance:
  • Take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions whilst at work.
  • Co-operate with their manager / supervisor in order to allow them to perform or comply with any legal requirements imposed on the company.
  • Inform their manager / supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that represents a serious or immediate danger to health and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • The ability to drive and/or operate main/lower deck loaders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer airline systems and internal operation systems.
  • Sound knowledge of ramp services functions.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
