Opal manufactures goods you see, touch and use daily for top FMCG, Retail and Fresh Produce customers.

Discover the Opportunity

As a Maintenance Fitter, you'll repair, install and maintain machinery and equipment at our Wodonga site. Working on the afternoon shift, your hours will be Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 1am.

The role involves:

  • Breakdowns: running repairs and troubleshooting issues throughout the day
  • Shutdowns: planned shutdowns of machines and equipment for servicing

This will include;

  • The timely action and satisfactory completion of machine breakdowns
  • A key role within a team focused on efficient preventative maintenance practices
  • Providing technical support to the Maintenance and Production teams
  • Following safe work practices and adhering to Opal's values, procedures and policies
  • Assisting with ordering components from external suppliers as necessary with approval
  • Responding to requests regarding repair and/or maintenance details on a technical basis
  • Providing reasonable support outside normal working hours if required (reasonable overtime)

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong fault finding and communication skills, problem solving and initiative.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in high speed production lines and environments is advantageous
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised in a team environment
  • Team Player, trustworthy and great work ethic
