Eye Health Nursing Specialist

This position focuses on enhancing the provision of ophthalmic nursing services to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will provide clinical assessment, coordination and case management of outpatients in collaboration with ophthalmology consultants. They will also develop, deliver and evaluate high-quality education and training resources for nursing staff, providing direct clinical support and supervision.
- Develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines for ophthalmic nursing care.
- Coordinate and evaluate continuous quality improvement projects to reduce clinical variation in patient care.
- Provide clinical support to ophthalmology registrars before and after surgery.
- Liaise with stakeholders and other agencies to coordinate eye health services for Indigenous communities.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ophthalmic nursing, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. They will be committed to delivering high-quality patient-centred care and contributing to the development of clinical practice.
