Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional Protective Service Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will provide static and mobile security services to state government departments, ensuring the safety of community members and employees.

The role requires working across Queensland in various locations, including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Ipswich, and Toowoomba.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct observations of government buildings and facilities, undertaking general inspection duties, mobile observation duties, contract staff supervision, and other special duties to ensure a high level of security is maintained.
  • Operate specialized security equipment and exercise authorized powers under relevant legislation when required.
  • Provide backup assistance to other Protective Services Officers in critical incident situations.
  • Control personnel entry to and parking on government property according to policies and procedures.
  • Detect and report fires and other building hazards, assisting in emergency evacuations.
  • Undertake activities and responsibilities according to procedural manuals, policy documents, and relevant legislation.
  • Maintain high-quality communication standards with clients and the public.
  • Supervise, train, and support other members of the Protective Services Group.
Role Requirements
  • Successful applicants will complete the Protective Services Officer Course, facilitated by the Protective Services Group.
  • Wearing a uniform is mandatory.
Qualification
  • A current First Aid Medical Certificate is required.

Applications remain current for 12 months.
