Job Description

The role of National Development Coach is a key position in the tennis community, focusing on developing high-performance athletes through effective communication, education, and support.

This coach will assist the National Development Head Coach in leading a high-performance tennis program in South Australia, impacting athlete and coach development through synergistic efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the National Development Head Coach in delivering a world-class tennis program at the National Talent Development level and to individual athletes.
  • Executing on-court with excellence and professionalism, planning sessions, and ensuring synergy between plans and Daily Training Environment (DTE).
  • Empowering athletes to perform at their best through a holistic approach to development.
  • Building trust and relationships with athletes, parents, and coaches.
  • Managing key stakeholders to ensure best practices and smooth transitions of players in and out of the National Tennis Academy.

Requirements for this role include:

  • High-Performance coaching qualifications or willingness/ability to attain.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement a high-performance tennis program and environment.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Extensive experience coaching tennis at elite national or international levels and a successful track record.
  • Highly developed leadership skills and experience.
  • Past playing experience at the elite international level (preferred).
  • A current Police Check and Working with Children Check.
