Senior Flood Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing flood studies, floodplain management plans, and risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare flood studies, floodplain management plans, and risk assessments
  • Communicate flood conditions, government compliance requirements, and the impacts of proposed development on flood conditions for upstream and downstream properties
  • Manage communications between clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders while ensuring the delivery of quality and timely solutions
  • Collaborate with other Orion teams to deliver various projects across QLD
  • Coordinate resources, including team members, third-party contractors, and/or consultants, to deliver projects according to the plan
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and standards
  • Ensure quality control processes are implemented and documented
  • Assist in managing project budgets, invoicing, and variations where required
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders both internal and external
  • Address client queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related fields
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering and flood management-related projects
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction practices, and project management techniques
  • Proficiency in TUFLOW, DRAINS/XP-Rafts, and MUSIC
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using MS Office and MS Project (desirable)
