At Warrah, we are seeking Support Specialists to join our team. Our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Support Services (CSS) teams provide 24/7 care and a family-friendly schedule of Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.

About the Role

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people with disabilities. As a Support Specialist, you will be working closely with clients to provide person-centred support and promote their autonomy and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support using a person-centred approach, tailored to each individual's plan.
  • Coach and encourage clients to make informed choices and promote their autonomy and independence.
  • Engage with the broader community to enhance the image of people with disabilities and advocate for their ability to be contributing and valued members of society.
  • Offer support, including personal care, to Warrah clients.
  • Implement high-quality programs that align with participants' needs and preferences.
Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities, including those with complex behavioural needs.
  • Practical knowledge of a human rights-based service approach in both individual and community contexts.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload, plan effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent listening skills and the ability to communicate and share information in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Good communication and de-escalation skills to handle various situations effectively.
