Learning and Development Specialist

ASIO is seeking a skilled professional to lead the development of its learning and development strategy, ensuring the organisation has the necessary capabilities to achieve its objectives.

  • Refine and deliver ASIO's Learning Strategy by aligning strategies and operations with the organisation's objectives to identify and address skill gaps, and address the needs of a diverse and complex workforce.
  • Develop and deliver programs to support the growth and development of current and future leaders, including succession planning, leadership development, and on-the-job development.
  • Create and implement programs to develop the skills and competencies of employees, including induction, orientation, training, and career development initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders to support and influence organisational change and improvement initiatives - including supporting a learning culture, inclusion and diversity, and employee engagement.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of learning and development initiatives, including ROI analysis, participant feedback, and business impact.
  • Manage the learning and development budget, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify, select, and manage external vendors and partners to support learning and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to communicate the value and impact of learning and development initiatives.
  • Build relationships with senior leaders, employees, and external partners to understand learning and development needs and priorities.
  • Lead and manage a team of learning and development professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • A proven track record of designing, leading, and implementing successful learning and development strategies.
  • Experience with or knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and technology-enabled learning.
  • Ability to promote and build a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and align with organisational objectives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience with metrics and evaluation, including ROI analysis and data-driven decision making.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in learning and development.
  • Experience with learning management systems and other learning technologies.
  • Experience in business partnering ideally HR business partnering in a complex and geographically dispersed organisation.
