Overview

This is a truly unique opportunity for a skilled Counsellor to join our school community. The role involves providing counselling and psychological assessment of students, complementing the work of teachers to enhance student learning and wellbeing outcomes.

School counsellors are an integral part of our department's School Counselling Service, working collaboratively with colleagues and outside agencies to achieve exceptional results. As a Counsellor at our school, you will have opportunities to work across the lifespan with both primary and high school aged students, engaging with a diverse range of students and school communities.

The successful candidate will be based at Plumpton House School and participate in regular professional supervision with the Senior Psychologist Education, as well as group and peer supervision as a member of the broader district school counselling team.

We provide regular opportunities for professional development, and the NSW Department of Education will support you to complete or maintain your registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Other benefits include school holiday leave, travel allowances, and health and wellbeing benefits such as our Fitness Passport program.

This is a permanent full-time position that commences on 27 January 2026. Successful applicants will be provided with a Departmental induction program, ongoing professional learning, and professional supervision.
