Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Inpatient Social Work team at CCLHD as a Team Leader specialising in Oncology services at Gosford Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients and their families in their emotional and psychosocial response to experiencing oncology diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership to fellow inpatient social workers and facilitate seamless transitions to community services and support networks.
  • Deliver comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, and counselling within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Demonstrate expertise in providing psychosocial assessment and crisis management within person-centred, trauma-informed, and brief intervention models.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in social work, particularly in neurology, with a well-developed understanding of psychosocial issues arising for patients/clients and their families during chronic and acute illness and trauma.
  • Proven team management and leadership skills, including supervision of staff and students, effective management of professional development, and building a mutually supportive team.
