About the Role

Citi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Applications Support Analyst to join our team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our Applications Support team, you will be responsible for providing technical and business support for our mission-critical trading systems used by trading desks, sales, clients, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business support for mission-critical trading systems, including position matching, pricing, client connectivity, trade executions, settlements, back office, and regulatory reporting flows.
  • Support all aspects of FX Derivatives trade life cycle flows, including start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
  • Provide technical and business support for users of Citi Applications, including quick resolutions to app issues, driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
  • Maintain application systems that have completed the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm.
  • Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
  • Perform same-day risk reconciliations and develop and maintain technical support documentation.
  • Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used and assess risk and impact of production issues.
  • Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly and formulate and define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
  • Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability to users and partner with development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
  • Participate in application releases, from development, testing, and deployment into production, and engage in post-implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
  • Consider implications of the application of technology to the current environment, identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues, and communicate impact.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes, and act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
  • Escalate issues to appropriate technology and business teams, while adhering to Service Level Agreements, and act as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations and exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
  • Active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives, and perform other duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience in an Application Support role.
  • Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications.
  • Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
  • Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re-prioritization.
  • Effective written and verbal communications, including the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-IT staff can understand.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and issue tracking and reporting using tools.
  • Good all-round technical skills and the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgment and autonomy and effectively share information with other support team members and with other technology teams.
  • Ability to plan and organize workload and consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately to relevant stakeholders and a Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
