Job Overview

The Welding Inspector role involves ensuring the quality and integrity of welding processes on offshore projects. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify welders, equipment, consumables, and procedures are current and correct for tasks
  • Monitor welding parameters and conduct visual inspections prior to, during, and post-welding
  • Conduct visual testing of weld area preparation, welding, and completed welds
  • Advise of non-conformances as early as possible and complete daily progress reporting
  • Ensure weld repair procedures are followed and provide professional advice as required
  • Witness weld procedure qualification & welder qualification testing when necessary
Requirements
  • Welding Inspector certification (WTIA, CSWIP, AWS, or IIW)
  • Experience with structural welding is beneficial but not essential
  • Strong technical skills and experience, preferably in the offshore oil & gas industry
  • Functional use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Positive attitude with a focus on problem-solving
  • Ability to work harmoniously in close confines
