Job Title: Grid Engineer

About the Role

Aula Energy is seeking a highly skilled Grid Engineer to support the connection of our portfolio of wind, solar, and integrated storage projects across Australia and New Zealand. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with our Grid Connection Manager to provide technical inputs to our business growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement grid analysis processes and tools to support connections and new opportunities.
  • Lead the identification and assessment of new opportunities from a grid-centric perspective.
  • Support the business in assessing new opportunities, including origination and M&A.
  • Assess risks and opportunities from regulatory and market-led reforms.
  • Support the connection of Aula's and its joint development partner projects in the NEM and WEM.
  • Provide advice on grid-related matters, including risk position, loss factors, constraints, system strength, costs, and timing.
  • Support operations and maintenance of operational assets.
  • Identify and evaluate business growth opportunities, including generation site assessments and/or red flag analysis of M&A opportunities.
  • Manage project risks, including identification of appropriate mitigations and escalation where necessary.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of laws, standards, regulations, and policies in the area of expertise.
  • Ensure health, safety, environmental, and quality management practices are implemented for projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
