About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to join our Aboriginal Cultural Heritage team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of process, systems, and projects that will support the delivery of new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Legislation and operational projects to improve the way Aboriginal heritage is managed in NSW.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of process, systems, and projects that will support the delivery of new Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Legislation
  • Work with Aboriginal communities, industry groups, and government agencies to design and deliver projects that improve the way Aboriginal heritage is managed in NSW
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address cultural heritage issues and develop solutions that meet the needs of Aboriginal communities
  • Provide administrative support to the team, including preparing reports, managing databases, and coordinating meetings
Requirements
  • Understanding of the context of Aboriginal culture in NSW
  • Passion for driving change and improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities
  • Ability to work in partnership with Aboriginal stakeholders and navigate complex stakeholder relationships
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design practical solutions that can be used easily on the ground
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
