Behavioural Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced full-time or part-time Behavioural Support Specialist to join our forward-thinking team in Adelaide. About the Role

You will report to the relevant Regional Clinical Manager and play a crucial role in conducting assessments, writing behavioural support plans and programmes, assisting with plan implementation and supervising other practitioners. The work is based on the principles of Multi-Element Behaviour Support (MEBS) and Positive Behaviour Support for children and adults in various settings.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships to make positive changes in the lives of others.
  • Provide direct behavioural interventions in individual and group sessions.
  • Develop Functional Behavioural Assessments and Behaviour Analysis Support Plans.
  • Support and train colleagues, caregivers, and support workers on clinical techniques.
  • Partner with professionals, including doctors and therapists, to develop and implement individualised client goals.
  • Adhere to legislative requirements regarding timely and accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Complete introductory training in Non-Linear Multi-element Positive Behaviour Support.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or postgraduate qualifications related to Positive Behaviour Support.
  • An NDIS Practitioner ID, NDIS Workers Screening Check, and Working with Children Check.
  • Proven experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner, Behaviour Analyst, or Behaviour Therapist.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports in a timely manner using high-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
