About the Role

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our high-performing workshop team at our Hume facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, completing service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products, and supporting engine rebuilds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers
  • Complete service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop
  • Support engine rebuilds
  • Diagnose and repair various engines predominately across on-highway, industrial, and power generation
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation and report any issues/incidents to the Workshop Manager
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens

Requirements

  • Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Diesel Engines, Power Generation, On Highway Truck, Construction, or Agriculture desirable but not essential
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
  • Be a team player & be prepared to adhere to Cummins Policies
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues/incidents to shift supervisors

Cummins Inc. offers a competitive hourly + shift allowance rate paid as a permanent salary, overtime penalties for all work above standard Monday to Friday 38-hour work week.
