Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our high-performing workshop team at our Hume facility. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our customers and ensuring the maintenance and repair of heavy diesel products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a first-class service to our customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Complete service, repairs, and maintenance of heavy diesel products in our workshop, adhering to all relevant health and safety policies.
  • Support engine rebuilds and diagnose and repair various engines, primarily across on-highway, industrial, and power generation applications.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to the Workshop Manager.
  • Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, and quality documents.
  • Be part of a community of like-minded individuals who value your input and are open to all viewpoints and communication.

Requirements

  • Mechanical trades qualified as a Heavy or Light Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards).
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with diesel engines, power generation, on-highway trucks, construction, or agriculture is desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrate diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Be a team player and prepared to adhere to Cummins policies.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant health and safety policies, procedures, and legislation, reporting any issues or incidents to shift supervisors.

Compensation and Benefits

Cummins offers a competitive hourly rate, shift allowance, and overtime penalties for all work above standard. Uniforms, further training, and participation in an annual variable compensation program are also provided. Income protection continuance insurance, discounts with select private health insurance, PC software/hardware, and vehicles are available. Annual remuneration reviews and safety equipment/PPE are also provided.
