Position Overview:

As a Project Engineer at Sulzer Australia Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in our operations. This position is based in Maitland and involves managing technical projects that deliver exceptional solutions to our clients across various sectors, including energy production, petrochemicals, mining, and heavy manufacturing.

In this role, you will report to the Service Centre Manager and be responsible for producing precise estimates and overseeing technical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee workshop operational activities
  • Assist the sales team in achieving financial targets
  • Advocate for Sulzer's safety culture and practices
  • Foster long-term relationships with customers
  • Act as a liaison between the workshop and clients
  • Monitor workshop activities and client outcomes
  • Serve as the technical authority for both the workshop and clients
  • Provide comprehensive technical calculations and designs
  • Compile detailed reports on assigned projects
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality assurance standards
  • Engage with customers regarding estimations
  • Coordinate with vendors for technical and commercial inquiries
  • Collaborate with the engineering team for reverse engineering tasks
  • Manage both in-house and on-site projects
  • Utilize internal resources to fulfill company objectives
  • Participate in weekly project update meetings

Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Accreditation from Engineering Australia
  • Experience with steam or gas turbines
  • Proficiency in technical report writing
  • Skills in cost control, estimation, contracts, and tenders
  • Strong communication abilities
