Open Cut Mine Planning Specialist

This is a key position in our mining operation, responsible for the effective management and coordination of open cut mining activities.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent, with experience in mine planning and design software. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are also essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining short-term (daily to weekly) Load & Haul schedules to meet production targets
- Designing and optimizing haul roads, dump locations, and loading areas using mine planning software
- Collaborating with operations, drill & blast, and geology teams to ensure alignment of plans and execution
- Monitoring and adjusting schedules based on operational feedback, equipment availability, and changing conditions
- Conducting regular pit inspections to validate designs and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
- Providing technical support to supervisors and operators regarding plan implementation and design intent
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in mine planning and operational efficiency
Requirements:
- Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Experience with mine planning and design software (exposure to Vulcan would be well regarded)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
