About the role:

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, the scope of your role as a Bench Hand will be to assist the shotfirer in daily loading activities, including measuring and setting out blast positions. Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 48 kilometres northeast of Mudgee, producing high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Duties will include:

  • Loading, priming, and firing of blast holes
  • Maintaining safe loading practices
  • Identifying and rectifying hazards
  • Locating, priming, and wiring blast holes according to the design, testing, and firing pattern
  • Ensuring correct demarcation and communication during loading and firing

About you:

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a shot-firing crew
  • Proactive in maintaining high safety standards
  • Police Clearance Check
  • Driver's License
