**About the role**:
Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, the scope of your role as a **Bench Hand** will be to assist the shotfirer in daily loading activities including assisting with measuring and setting out of blast positions. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open-cut mine located 48 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

**Duties will include**:

- Loading, priming and firing of blast holes
- Maintenance and adherence of safe loading practices
- identifying and rectifying hazards
- locating, priming & wiring blast holes in accordance with the agreed design testing & firing pattern
- Ensuring correct demarcation and communication is used during loading & firing

- 2+ years’ experience working a shot-firing crew
- Proactive in setting and maintaining a high safety standard;
- Police Clearance Check
- Driver’s License
