About the Role


Townsville Catholic Education seeks a dedicated Groundsperson to join their team. This full-time, permanent position involves maintaining the college grounds, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.


Key Responsibilities



  • Maintain and upgrade the college grounds and gardens, including fertilising, poisoning, landscaping, and minor irrigation checks and repairs as required.
  • Assist with lawn maintenance, tree trimming, hedging, blowing down, and outdoor vacuuming.
  • Service and maintain garden and lawn care equipment.
  • Perform bin runs, rubbish removal, tilling sandpits, and pressure cleaning.
  • Assist with setting up for college functions and displays.
  • Carry out minor repairs to the college property and equipment.

About You



  • Experience with prioritising workload and assessing repairs quickly.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to ensure a high standard of safety and due diligence.
  • Working knowledge of regulations, standards, and safety applications of facilities and grounds.
  • Ability to communicate with staff across primary and secondary school settings.

Requirements



  • Current Working with Children Suitability Card.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
  • Ability to travel within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role safely.
