Arboriculture Consultant Position

Help communities grow with integrity by contributing to tree assessments, vegetation planning, and environmental approvals on diverse projects across NSW.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to work directly with and learn from a highly respected Principal Arborist (AQF5).

  • Undertake arboricultural surveys and inspections using recognised methods.
  • Assist with preparing high-quality arborist reports, impact assessments, and tree management plans.
  • Work under the guidance of the Principal Arborist on fieldwork and reporting.
  • Assist with tree risk assessments for development and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute to Vegetation Management Plans and support council and planning submissions.

You'll be part of a multidisciplinary environment that includes ecologists, bushfire consultants, archaeologists, and restoration ecologists—allowing you to grow your understanding of how trees fit into broader environmental planning.

About the Role

As an Arboriculture Consultant, you'll assist in the delivery of arboricultural services to clients across various sectors, including urban development, infrastructure, conservation, and bushfire planning contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver arboricultural services through survey and inspection activities.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive arborist reports and plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Requirements
  • Minimum AQF Level 3 in Arboriculture; ideally progressing toward AQF Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in tree assessments, field surveys, and arborist reporting.
  • Understanding of tree physiology, pruning standards, and impacts of development on trees.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
