Job Description

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that site-fixed and mobile equipment is maintained to the required standard to ensure reliable and cost-effective operation. This role reports to the Factory Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety Leadership: Provide safety leadership to the maintenance team.
  • Conduct SHEQ Activities: Conduct Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) activities, including FSR audits, JRA Observations, management inspections, hazard reporting, etc.
  • Preventative Maintenance Routines: Ensure that preventative maintenance routines (PMR) are performed per the PMR register.
  • Maintenance Scheduling: Populate the weekly maintenance schedule with PMR, planned corrective work, and improvements.
  • PWR System Management: As custodian of the PWR system, vet the PWR being raised by others, accepting and declining in consultation with the factory manager, and then managing the execution of the PWRs.
  • Corrective and Improvement Work: Plan corrective and improvement work.
  • Procurement: Procure parts, materials, and services.
  • PWR Generation: Generate PWRs based on tradesperson feedback of issues discovered while completing PMRs.
  • Review of PMRs: Review preventative maintenance routines.
  • Work Packs: Prepare work packs.
  • Fault Finding: Lead and assist tradespersons in fault-finding maintenance issues.
  • Maintenance Budget: Prepare annual maintenance budget.
  • Shutdown Plans: Prepare annual shutdown plans.
  • Contractor Management: Manage contractors.
  • Mobile Equipment Performance: Monitor mobile equipment performance (Prestart review) and manage routine servicing and breakdown repairs using a third-party provider.
  • Capital Justification: Generate capital justification for maintenance and equipment improvements as required.
  • Equipment Drawings: Mark-up of equipment AutoCAD drawings and manage drawing modification via a 3rd-party draftsperson.
Requirements
  • Mechanical Trades Background: Mechanical trades background with a minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance planning/scheduling and maintenance supervision in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Graduate Mechanical Engineer: Graduate mechanical engineer with a minimum of 1 year supporting maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Programs: Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft programs, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project.
  • CMMS Exposure: Exposure to a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) will be an advantage.
  • Mechanical Trade or Engineering Degree: Mechanical trade or mechanical engineering degree.
  • Comprehension of 1st Order Maintenance Principles: Comprehension of 1st order maintenance principles.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Have a mechanical aptitude.
  • Leadership Skills: Possess leadership skills to manage the efficiency of the maintenance team.
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize competing tasks, activities, and requirements of others.
  • Communication: Ability to talk to, influence, and motivate people at all levels in the organization from managers to shop floor.
  • System Management: Ability to manage a system, write, and update procedures and maintenance documents.
