Train Assembly Technician Job Description

The Train Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling train components on the production line, utilizing a variety of tools and equipment. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble train components according to specifications, employing mechanical and electrical assembly techniques.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, and process efficiency, including lean production activities.
  • Document and report defects, conduct quality checks, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Maintain equipment in accordance with established maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts as part of a team, focusing on continuous improvement.
  • Lead the team in performing assembly tasks using machinery and hand tools.
  • Engage in training relevant to the role and across teams, providing support and skills transfer.
  • Train and mentor others on process and job requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to risk assessments and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete routine daily maintenance and safety checks.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in similar or related roles.
  • Possess a tertiary qualification relevant to the position, such as certification in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
  • Experience with office management software, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
