About the Job
As a Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will work with children of all ages and abilities to help them reach their full potential. You will evaluate each child's medical history, movement, and functional abilities to develop personalized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the medical history and movement and functional abilities of new patients
- Develop treatment plans based on medical diagnoses
- Provide massage therapy to relieve soft tissue pain
- Mobilize and manipulate muscles and joints
- Provide treatment using physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment
- Give patients exercises designed to strengthen and increase their motor abilities
- Show patients exercises that they can perform on their own at home (and correct any incorrect posture / movements)
- Keep updated patient records detailing all therapy provided (i.e. treatment and results)
- Adjust plans and prescribe new treatment, where necessary
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for children with physical disabilities, neurological conditions, or developmental delays
- Implement play-based therapy techniques to engage children in movement activities
- Provide family-centered care, educating parents and caregivers on therapy techniques for home use
- Recommend and fit mobility aids, orthotics, and assistive devices to support independence
- Advocate for inclusion and participation in schools, sports, and community programs
