Postdoctoral Research Scientist In Advanced Process Control

This is a unique opportunity to conduct scientific research on control theory and machine learning techniques for an ARC Discovery Project.
The successful candidate will join the Process Control Group in the School of Chemical Engineering and work closely with Professor Jie Bao.
- Carry out scientific research on control theory and machine learning techniques for project DP250101137.
- Collaborate with the Process Control Group in the School of Chemical Engineering.
- Contribute to publications and conferences as appropriate.
- Engage with project team and stakeholders as required.
Key qualifications include:
- A PhD in Engineering or Mathematics.
- Theoretical and practical experience with process control and modern control theories including nonlinear control and stochastic systems theory, ideally Behavioural Systems theory and applications.
- Ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- A track record of publications and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- Strong mathematical skills.
- Understanding of UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
