Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Operations Manager to join our Microsoft team in Australia and New Zealand. This role is responsible for driving the day-to-day operations of our engineering community, ensuring seamless execution of core business priorities and promoting best practices across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering Site Leader in maintaining a rhythm of the business (RoB) that drives execution of core business priorities and encourages best practice sharing among development centers.
  • Partner with corporate communications and local teams to deliver on an internal communication (meetings, presentations, milestones, etc.) and external communication (university engagement, customer, partner, PR, etc.) strategy that reinforces Microsoft's values, brand, and presence in the community.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to deliver programming that shapes a positive, inclusive, and innovative culture at our engineering and research centers.
  • Support and participate in strategic initiatives or cross-group projects contributing to the overall strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years of experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional influence and collaboration skills. Ability to get things done working collaboratively across a highly matrixed organization.
  • An aptitude to work independently without significant oversight or instruction to achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail under deadline pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 5+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to build real connections, display very strong people skills, high emotional intelligence.
