Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Strategist to lead the development of high-quality content that meets user needs and aligns with our organisation's strategic objectives.

As a Content Strategist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all content is user-centered, plain language, and aligned with government standards.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in content strategy, digital content management, or content design in a government or complex organisational setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a multi-channel content strategy to improve user engagement and accessibility.
  • Lead the refresh of website content to ensure it is user-centered, plain language, and aligned with government standards.
  • Audit, review, and rewrite existing content to improve readability, accessibility, and usability.
  • Work with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, concise, and accessible content.
  • Ensure all content meets readability standards, WCAG accessibility requirements, and is optimised for digital channels.
  • Publish content to our content management system and manage content migration to our enhanced website.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in content strategy, digital content management, or content design in a government or complex organisational setting.
  • Understanding of the Digital Service Standard, Australian Government Style Manual, and WCAG.
  • Experience delivering content refresh or content migration projects.
  • Ability to analyse and restructure content to improve clarity, usability, and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience collaborating in agile, multidisciplinary teams and working with stakeholders on content projects.

Note: We require candidates to be an Australian Citizen with an Active Baseline or NV1 Security Clearance.
