Heavy Vehicle Fitter Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing and carrying out repairs, maintenance and fabrication of all plant machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working knowledge of underground and surface diesel mining equipment is essential for success in this role.
  • Daily maintenance activities include light vehicles as well as heavy equipment, requiring a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ensure equipment service and repair records are maintained and current, including vehicle pre-start documentation.
  • Regular maintenance checks should be undertaken to prevent issues, adhering to safety standards and procedures.
  • Liaise with production technicians to minimize downtime and optimize equipment usage.
  • Adhere to specific mechanical maintenance tasks outlined in relevant JSA's, Best Practice documents and site procedures.
  • Manage the mobile workshop area, ensuring environmental compliance, oil supply and hydro-carbon waste management.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in systems and planning to ensure reliability and availability of mobile fleet equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will have a certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (Diesel Fitter) trade certificate and demonstrate a commitment to safe work practices. You will also require a solid working background in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
