Inventory Management Specialist

This role is responsible for overseeing retail inventory flow and developing store-specific distribution strategies to maximize sales and SKU productivity across channels.

  • Manage inventory by brand, district, store, and assortment group, considering factors such as store size, climate, seasonality, and capacity.
  • Proactively plan, react, communicate, and take action to meet and exceed sales and margin goals.
  • Partner with the buying team to implement and manage store assortments through effective use of store clusters to maximize full-price sell-through and turns.
  • Analyse, monitor, and recap core item performance and inventory levels on a weekly basis to minimize out-of-stocks.
  • Provide quantitative analysis to support planning, buying, and store planning decisions both pre-season and in-season.
  • Analyse and monitor open-to-ship quantities by department for each store.
  • Ensure all product is tracked and shipped in compliance with launch dates and new store opening requirements.
  • Consistently manage and update store capacity models across stores.
  • New store opening planning and allocation by article to meet business needs.
  • Evaluate adjustments to plans and allocations for performance trends and inventory levels.
  • Create and maintain smooth product flows by developing outbound flow from the DC on specific timelines.
  • Consolidate, analyse, and communicate size and location-based performance, including sales/inventory comparisons, seasonality, and marketing impacts.
  • Article delivery tracking, DC, and store level.
  • Collaborate with operations, DC, planning, and other teams to support strategy that aligns future financial and product opportunities.

Key Relationships:

This role requires collaboration with various teams, including Market Retail, District Managers, Store Managers, Logistics, Finance, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Retail Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong analytical skills and thorough understanding of retail math.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including macros, pivot tables, lookup formulas, formatting, etc.
  • Familiarity with accessing data from a database structure.
  • SAP experience is beneficial.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and use financial data to make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and create reporting tools from data.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Think strategically, synthesise data, identify trends, and recommend viable solutions.
