Role Overview

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Water Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Water team, you will play a critical role in delivering sustainable water solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement hydrological and hydraulic flood models to inform water management decisions.
  2. Contribute to the development of water balance models for complex systems.
  3. Provide technical inputs for proposals and reports.
  4. Mentor and manage junior engineers to ensure their growth and development.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver flood impact assessments and flood risk management plans.
  6. Work on climate change adaptation, water optimization, and resilience-related projects.
  7. Coordinate and verify designs, including drawings, reports, specifications, and studies.
  8. Contribute to the growth and development of the team, as well as internal and external relationships.
  9. Embrace and promote a leading digital work environment and delivery culture.
  10. Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
Requirements
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in a field related to water engineering.
  • Experience with modeling software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB, or RAFTS.
  • Programming skills, including Python.
  • Water balance programs, such as GoldSim.
  • GIS experience, including ArcGIS, QGIS, or MapInfo.
  • Understanding of ARR2019 guidelines.
  • Experience in several facets of the project lifecycle, from tendering and concept design to construction.
  • Demonstrated self-management and ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience working with a variety of clients.
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian standards, regulations, and legislation.
  • Desire to work collaboratively in a high-performing team environment.
  • Ambition to grow technical skills and personal influence.
