About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the review, identification, and resolution of potential conflicts issues related to clients, matters, and new business under applicable rules of professional responsibility and Dentons' global policies.

This role will work closely with members across the Firm's Global Business Acceptance Department to ensure seamless conflict checking and analysis of new clients and matters across various jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Global Head of Conflicts, Global Business Acceptance Manager, and other department leaders to identify and resolve potential conflicts of interest
  • Utilize internal and external databases, as well as other resources, to support analysis and decision-making processes
  • Communicate effectively with Partners, lawyers, and professionals to address potential conflicts of interest and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Prepare waiver/consent language, engagement letters, and other documentation as needed for Partner review and submission to clients
  • Proactively communicate with department leadership on complex conflicts questions and compliance issues
  • Support general conflict issues that may arise in any jurisdiction
  • Assist with information barriers and document security management as required
  • Conduct training sessions for Legal Administrative Assistants, lawyers, and business services staff on the firm's new matter intake, conflicts, Anti-Money Laundering, and other compliance procedures
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years of practice experience
  • Prior experience working with law firms or corporate legal departments
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a global environment, accommodating different time zones
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage numerous requests
  • Knowledge of Intapp conflict checking, ethical wall, and business intake software (a plus)
  • Proven track record of making decisions and recommendations under pressure
  • Adept at responding to challenges and issues as they arise
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to work with various people and projects in a collective and collaborative manner
  • Stay current with recent research and thinking on ethics and conflicts best practices and rules across jurisdictions where Dentons has offices
Benefits

Dentons offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and location. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
