Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Trackrider/Stablehand to join our thoroughbred breeding and racing operation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for routine track work riding, evaluating and reporting performance to the Assistant Trainer.

Daily stable tasks include feeding, grooming, mucking out, rugging, trot ups, loading walker and water walker.

Routine health checks, recognising signs of injury or illness and reporting concerns are also key responsibilities.

Assisting with farrier, vet, physio, and dentist services as well as preparing horses and gear for race meetings and trials is essential.

A reliable and hard-working person who shares our love for horses is required.

Key Requirements:

  • A well-organised team player with a proven track record of punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Sound horse handling skills, with experience handling thoroughbreds in full training.
  • A confident and experienced track rider, able to consistently ride pace/timed work and willing to ride young horses.
  • An understanding of horse health care and welfare requirements, with prior work experience providing direct daily care.
  • Familiarity with the thoroughbred racing industry and operations, including racing stable operations.
  • Sound communication skills.
