Job Opportunity: Horse Trainer/Educator

We are seeking a skilled Horse Trainer/Educator to join our team on a full-time basis, working 38 hours per week.

  • The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing.
  • Proven ability to train and educate young and older horses is essential.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required to take instruction and provide information to other staff and owners.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team and independently, or possess proven management experience if the position is for a foreperson role.
  • A sound understanding of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment is necessary.
  • Demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses on riding pace/timed work and jump outs are also required.
  • The ideal candidate will be able to educate our young horses on the ground, including swimming and barrier education.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to manage a small team of horses and staff under the direction of the head foreperson.

A minimum of three years of relevant experience in horse training/management is required.
