About This Role

We're seeking highly skilled and motivated engineers to join our team in Australia. As an engineer with Svitzer, you will be responsible for performing and overseeing vessel maintenance, supervising personnel, and operating machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Operations: Perform and oversee vessel maintenance in line with the planned maintenance schedule and budget, ensuring equipment remains in top working condition.
  • Personnel Supervision: Supervise and support personnel involved in engineering tasks, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate winches and other machinery during operations, providing assistance to Deckhands as needed to ensure smooth and safe vessel activities.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Prepare maintenance and operational reports, and report defects promptly to management.
What You'll Bring
  • Certifications and Qualifications: A minimum Engineer Class 3 Certificate of Competency (or equivalent), Statements of Attainment in Provide First Aid (HLTAID003) and CPR (HLTAID001), and a current AMSA Medical.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Effective communication through both verbal and written channels, ensuring clear and concise information is conveyed. A collaborative spirit and the ability to foster strong working relationships within a team environment.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Strong problem-solving abilities, coupled with efficient fault-finding to address challenges effectively. A calm and clear thinker who can make good decisions under pressure, especially in challenging or emergency situations.
