Job Title:

Echocardiography Specialist

Job Summary:

The role of an Echocardiography Specialist is to perform echocardiograms on inpatient and outpatient populations using advanced ultrasound technology. The specialist will work in a collaborative healthcare environment and provide safe, effective, and patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Record and archive appropriate study images to the image archive system.
  • Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Include administration duties such as computerized data entry of patient demographics and recording of anomalies in patient notes.
  • Participate in clinical trials.
  • Triaging of request forms and test required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) or equivalent and current ASAR accreditation as a fully qualified sonographer.
  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent as per the award.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform echocardiographic studies and report findings as an interim report.
  • Effectively communicate emergency findings to the Director of Cardiology or Cardiologist on call.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to transcribe data accurately.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organisation skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
