Echocardiography Specialist
Job Summary:The role of an Echocardiography Specialist is to perform echocardiograms on inpatient and outpatient populations using advanced ultrasound technology. The specialist will work in a collaborative healthcare environment and provide safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities:- Record and archive appropriate study images to the image archive system.
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- Include administration duties such as computerized data entry of patient demographics and recording of anomalies in patient notes.
- Participate in clinical trials.
- Triaging of request forms and test required.
- Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Cardiac) or equivalent and current ASAR accreditation as a fully qualified sonographer.
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent as per the award.
- Demonstrated ability to perform echocardiographic studies and report findings as an interim report.
- Effectively communicate emergency findings to the Director of Cardiology or Cardiologist on call.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to transcribe data accurately.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organisation skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
