About the Role

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lived Experience Project Worker to join our team at the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with project managers and project officers to co-design and implement projects that improve healthcare for people with intellectual disability.
  • Develop and maintain accessible documents and resources that meet the needs of people with intellectual disability.
  • Test and provide feedback on documents and resources to ensure they are clear and effective.
  • Contribute to the development of project plans and strategies that align with the Centre's goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with the project team to identify and address barriers to healthcare access and equity for people with intellectual disability.
Requirements
  • Lived experience of intellectual disability.
  • Passion for improving healthcare for people with intellectual disability.
  • Understanding and/or experience of working in projects and with project teams.
  • Confidence to ask questions, share ideas, and discuss issues with other people with intellectual disability, families, advocates, and health service providers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability or interest to learn some computer skills.
