Civil Maintenance Worker

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Civil Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure and operations department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the city's roads, footpaths, and drainage systems.

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and maintenance, with experience in operating plant and equipment. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, including lifting and relaying pavers and precast kerbs, pipes, temporary asphalt patching, minor retaining wall repairs, and maintenance to the city's drainage network.

You will also be required to perform accurate concreting work, including mixing to given proportions and exposed aggregate finishes. In addition, you will use and care for hand tools and operate basic items such as brick saws, compactors, jack hammers, and cement mixers.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance of footpaths, crossovers, roads, cycleways, retaining walls, and drainage systems.
  2. Performing accurate concreting work, including knowledge of material mixtures and mixing to given proportions.
  3. Use and care for hand tools and operate basic items such as brick saws, compactors, jack hammers, and cement mixers.
  4. Maintain compliant work practices in accordance with all relevant legislation, recordkeeping frameworks, and Council policies and procedures.
