Ship Engine Specialist Role

The position of Ship Engine Specialist is a crucial one in our operations, requiring the ability to maintain the operational capabilities of the vessel's engine and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the efficient operation of propulsion, auxiliary, and ancillary machinery in accordance with established procedures.
  2. Perform regular maintenance tasks on deck as assigned by senior engineers.
  3. Verify that all Self Unloading machinery and equipment are functioning effectively and in compliance with guidelines.
  4. Complete additional duties and tasks as delegated by superiors from time to time.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineer Class 3 certification (as per relevant regulations).
  • A minimum of six months' experience at sea in a similar role.
  • Possession of Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work safely at heights and enter confined spaces (certifications preferred).
  • Holding or eligibility for Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) is essential.
  • Australian citizenship or unlimited working rights within Australia.
  • Residency in Australia.
  • Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment, including respirators.
