Overview

This is a permanent full-time position available for an Engine Watchkeeper to join our team on a transhipment vessel operating in Western Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the operational capabilities of the ship's engine and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain propulsion, auxiliary and ancillary machinery to ensure efficient operation of the vessel and in accordance with performance management system requirements;
  • Maintain self-unloading machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation and in accordance with performance management system requirements;
  • Perform deck maintenance and rounds as required by the Chief Engineer;
  • Provide engine room duty engineering services as required by the Chief Engineer;
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management from time to time.

Requirements

  1. Educational requirement: As per Australian Maritime Safety Authority Marine Order 72 - Engineer Class 3;
  2. Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights;
  3. Minimum six months sea time as an Engine Watchkeeper;
  4. Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) (desirable);
  5. Work Safely at Heights Certification (desirable);
  6. Enter and Work in Confined Space Certification (desirable);
  7. Hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC);
  8. Be comfortable wearing a respirator.
