The diversity of skills, life experiences and perspectives within our team enhances our way of working and our ability to achieve success together.About The RoleWe are looking for a Specialist Track Engineer (Rail Maintenance) to lead a small team within the Rail Maintenance Asset Assurance Track team.The Asset Assurance Track team provide engineering support to the Rail Network Maintenance (RNM) Condition Monitoring, Asset Replacement, and Response teams to manage and maintain the track assets (turnouts, level crossings, insulated glued joints, etc.) in accordance with RTIO Standards, maximising life and availability.Reporting to the Senior Track Engineer based in Karratha, you will be required toAid defect response, management, and removal, minimising risk and business impact AFARPPerform inspections and audits of track infrastructure and maintenance activities to provide assurance to the business the asset is being managed accordance with the required standards or, controls have been implemented to manage the risk and operational impactProvide technical requirements for scope of works that meet the business objectives and RTIO StandardsDevelop a prioritised quarterly Asset Replacement work bank in conjunction with Condition Monitoring, Asset Replacement and Planning teamsProvide engineering input into the planning and scheduling of maintenance and replacement of rail assets.
Interface with other work steams (Resurfacing, Re-rail, Ballast Cleaning, etc.) to enable and optimise the execution of the work and achieve an effective resultReview maintenance processes and procedures to improve safety and asset performanceAnalyse operating performance of assets, recommend and implement improvement projects to eliminate defectsAnalyse performance of maintenance activities and repair works to determine effectivenessAssess risk and provide direction to the execution teams and Engineers where the Standards are silent or ambiguous; or we are unable to comply to Standards and need to manage deviations or non-conformancesAssess the condition of the track to determine the safe track operating speed, open the track to traffic post works, remove TSRs and/or apply speed restrictionsContribute to the management and quality of asset dataWhat You'll BringTo succeed in this role, you will have a minimum ofTertiary qualification in either Mechanical or Civil engineering5+ years experience in a rail maintenance or engineering roleHigh level knowledge of Railway Track Engineering concepts and principlesCurrent C Class Drivers LicenceApply today if you want to work with the latest technology and innovation, in an environment where we challenge you to drive positive change.If you are excited about the role and think you have what it takes but your experience doesn't align 100% we still want to hear from you.

With rail depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), most trains are autonomously operated and typically comprise three locomotives and 240 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.4 kilometres in length.
We are also applying and adapting technology to improve safety and productivity across our rail network.Our port facilities consist of four shipping terminals located on the Pilbara coast at Dampier and Cape Lambert which form an essential part of our logistics process.
