This role is part of the Square Kilometre Array Observatory (SKAO) project, an international effort to build the world's largest radio telescopes. Ventia has been awarded a significant contract for this exciting project, leveraging our telecommunications capabilities.

The scope of work includes provision of power and fibre networks, design and commission of a Central Processing Facility (CPF) and Remote Processing Facilities (RPF) at the Australian site.

This position will cover the full lifecycle of the project, starting in Welshpool and transitioning to the commissioning phase of the Central Processing Facility at Boolardy Station. From March 2025, the position will shift to a 2/1 FIFO roster.

About the Role:

  • We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with expertise in mechanical systems installation and structural assembly on large-scale projects.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical engineering principles, and structural integration.
  • You will be responsible for overseeing HVAC design & installation, subcontractor management, project coordination, design validation, testing & commissioning, and documentation & reporting.

About You:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in managing HVAC subcontractors and ensuring work is completed on schedule, to the highest quality, and fully compliant with safety regulations.
  • Strong collaboration skills with planning teams to ensure schedules align with overall project timelines.
