Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Acacia Early Learning and Care Center. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, cooking nutritious meals for children, and maintaining a safe and healthy food environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement menus on a weekly basis, considering dietary requirements and Community Services#1's Food and Nutrition policy
  • Organize orders for bulk food, fresh produce, and kitchen supplies
  • Check the accuracy and freshness of food deliveries, ensuring proper storage (as per Food Safety Plan)
  • Consult with families and guardians regarding special diets, foods, and allergies
Requirements:
  • A Certificate 3 Commercial Cookery or ACECQA approved equivalent is essential
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver positive and effective interactions with children, families, and educators
  • A caring, positive, and nurturing individual passionate about young children's growth and development
  • Hold unrestricted Working with Vulnerable People Card, National Police Check, and Drivers Licence
Benefits:
  • Hourly rate: $29.53 plus superannuation, Monday to Friday –7:30am-1:30pm (55 hrs fortnight)
